The Influence of After Reading the Different Activities of Third Grade Students in Elementary Schools on Reading Comprehension and Reading Attitude

This study examined the consequences among the different post-reading activities, reading comprehension ability and reading attitude for the third grade students. The effects of “Group Disscussion after Reading” and “Writing review after Reading” will be discussed simultaneously. Finally, The recommendations on practical implementations were made. We taked three classes of the third grade students as samples, one experimental group 1, for " Group Disscussion after Reading "; one experimental group 2, for "writing review after reading "; class for control group without any post-activity. This study stayed for 10 weeks, 80 minutes post-reading activities everyweek on experimental group 1 and 2. All three groups accepted a pretest of “ Reading Comprehension test 1” and “Questionaire of Reading Attitude”, in the end, all groups should attend the post-test of “Reading Comprehension Test 2” and “Questionnaire of Reading Attitude” again. The quantitative analysis method is one-way ANCOVA, while the qualitative data is to analyza the asked feedback questionnaires of students and researcher’s observation records. The results of this study are as follows: (1.)To enhance the reading comprehension ability of the third grade students impactfully, " Group Disscussion after Reading " and "Writing Review after Reading” are efficacious. (2.) There is no significant distinction between experimental group 1 and group 2 on reading compresension ability. (3.) There is no significant distinction between experimental group 1、2 and control group on reading attitude. (4) Students will build up their learning experiences variety through " After reading group discussion activities". The results revealed the essentiality of post-reading activities.
