Popis: | 99 The purposes of this study were (a) to explore the abilities in spatial developing and folding between the gifted and regular students in the fifth and sixth grades, and(b) to realize the differences between the gifted and regular students’ abilities in spatial developing and folding in term of gender, grade, the number of participating science camp and socio-economic status. There were 822 fifth and sixth graders from elementary school in Kaohsiung City, including 281 gifted and 541 regular students. The subjects were tested with the instrument entitled “Test of the Abilities in Spatial Developing and Folding for Fifth and Sixth Graders in Elementary School”.Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson product-moment correlation were the main statistical methods used for data analysis. The main findings are showed as follows: 1.The gifted students’ performance of spatial developing and folding is significantly better than regular students. 2.There are significant differences in grade, the number of participating science camp and socio-economic status of the gifted students’ spatial developing and folding ability, however, there is no significant difference in gender. 3.There are significant differences in grade and socio-economic status of the regular students’ spatial developing and folding ability, but there is no significant difference in gender and the number of participating science camp. 4.The performance of gifted students and regular students in 2D spatial developing and folding ability is significant better than the performance in 3D. The performance in developing is significant better than the performance in folding. |
