A study of Participating in the Web-based Professional Growth Community for Teacher Professional Growth with the Ping-Tung County Elementary School Special Education Teachers

Popis: | 99 The purpose of this study was based on the theory of UTAUT ( Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology ) to investigate the related factors which influenced the intention among elementary school special edutation teachers at Ping-Tung county in participating in the web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth. The researcher developed the questionnaire of “The Status of Participating in the Web-based Professional Growth Community for Elementary School Special education Teachers at Ping-Tung County” and administered it as research instruments to explore the difference between teachers’ “performance expectancy”, “effort expectancy”, ”social influence” and “behavioral intention”, and the correlation among four of them. This research collects 126 effective samples of elementary school special education teachers at Ping-Tung County. The data were analyzed in various statistical methods including mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation analysis. The major findings of this study were summarized as follows: 1. Pingtung County elementary school special education teachers to participate in web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth of “performance expectancy”, “effort expectancy”, ”social influence” and “behavioral intention” are of middle and upper. 2. Pingtung County elementary school special education teachers to participate in web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth of “performance expectancy”, “effort expectancy”, ”social influence” and “behavioral intention” are showing moderate positive correlation. 3. The “gender”, “age”, “education degree”, “years of teaching special education” and “teach classes” for the Pingtung County elementary special education teachers to participate in web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth of “performance expectancy”, “effort expectancy”, and ”social influence” do not cause differences. 4. The “Internet experience with using a computer” and “ Web-based professional growth community to participate in professional growth experience” for the Pingtung County elementary special education teachers to participate in web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth do not expect the performance differences caused by the “effort expectancy”, but “social influence” is not. 5. The "Internet hours" and "Community to participate in professional growth experience" for the Pingtung County elementary special education teachers to participate in web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth do not expect the performance differences caused by the “effort expectancy” and “social influence”. 6. The “Voluntariness” of the Pingtung County elementary special education teachers to participate in web-based professional growth community for teacher professional growth does not cause the performance differences of the “social influence”. 7. The web-based professional growth community to participate in professional growth rate of up to Facebook, followed by SCTnet.
