This design takes the bones of bicycle, which’s form is like diamond, as the study material to probe for new forms and techniques. To generate a new form is based on the understanding of material intension. Therefore, by analyzing and testing, the research attempts to build a construction system which accords with the material specialty (the bike bones,) and performs it in practical ways to test the possibility of the system. This thesis can be divided into the following four parts: <Substance Analysis>There are eight sides and seven joints of the bike’s bone, and they can create 169 ways to join each other. But not every bone has the same size. <Open System>The components (bike’s bone) can be disassembled without damage by using open joints, and they also can be reconstructed in another place. The challenge of the joints is all using the available elements of the market, rather than inventing new one. <Practical Operation>The location is in the Li-Hsing district of NCKU campus. To compose a ten meters long, six meters wide, four and a half high construction by using 300 components. <Generation>After practical operation, the ways of connecting can be reduced from 169 kinds to 21 effective kinds. Then, keep generating new forms by using these 21 connecting ways to make this thesis more complete.
