Feasible Ubiquitous Technology of Innovative Service in Resort Industry

| Popis: | 99 The rises of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Ubiquitous Technology should be obliged to the emphases on the pervasive wireless networking and accessible information. Therefore, how to effectively infuse technologies into industries, and how to use Ubiquitous Technology to innovate attentive customization services to meet clients’ requirements in order to improve business performance, have seriously become critical issues faced by business managers. This study explores the importance and easiness level of building service innovation, with Ubiquitous Technology, for the vacation industry, and brings up advices on build-up of the Ubiquitous Technology encompassed environment, as decision-making references. This study takes the vacation industry as the research object, and draws up 36 innovative service items which then go through Delphi survey undertaken industrial experts. The results show that "Accommodation" and "Food" are the more important services with higher easiness level of building; while the following 14 items are the most important and feasible for Ubiquitous Technology application: "rapid magnetic induction for vehicle passing", "parking guidance service", "check-in reservation", "exclusive check-in/out counters for re-visitors and members", "E-card floor access control", "kiosk machines in hotel lobby for queries (restaurants, navigation, recreation, entertainment...)", "active-type reception services", "sensor detection to provide fixed-point interactive navigation services", "multi-language navigation services", "electronic-sensed locks in hot spring locker", "restaurant reservations and rapid booking confirmation for reservation customers", "item inventory control", "electronic records of surveys" and "quick provision of consumer electronic spending records (recreation, entertainment, dining, shopping)". Among all the 14 items, however, the 3 items – "E-card floor access control" (gate security), "kiosk machines in hotel lobby for queries (restaurants, navigation, recreation, entertainment...)" (technological services) and "active-type reception services" (receptionists) are deemed by both customers and the industry important and feasible services for the Ubiquitous Technology application. |
