The research focuses on the peptide sequences of N-terminal and three extracellular loops in olfactory protein as meterials for recognition of odorants. Several peptide sequences from the olfactory protein were selected. The sensitivity between the olfactory peptide and the odorant was enhanced by molecular imprinting. The target imprinting odorant was determined with the binding offinify of non-imprinted peptides and different odorants. The sensitivity and selectivity of imprinted and non-imprinted peptides for target odorant were studied. The result is shown that molecular imprinting really improves the recognition of peptide sequences for odorant. From these peptides were selected, there were two peptide sequences are successfully enhanced the recognition of a single odor by molecular imprinting. Some peptide sequences, although did not have good recognition for a single odor, could identify acid or basic odorants. Furthermoer, the result of studies will be used for development of biochip for odorant sensing.
