In the injection molding process, the defects of many thin components are caused by exhausting. And this problem can be solved by the mold steels with high gas permeability. The traditional gas permeability steels are made in the open setting sintering process and there is just 61% relative consistency. So the mechanical properties and gas permeability are low. This study adopts a powder injection molding SKD11 fine powder and an array threading molding making method to make gas permeability steels. Because the sintering temperature is higher than that of some liquid phases of alloy powders, the right consistency can be acquired except for the apertures caused by the macromolecule evaporation. Therefore, the surface of the gas permeability steels is smooth, wear resistant, high strength and permeability. In addition, the processing is simple and low cost. And through the control of macromolecule thread diameter, its numbers and sintering parameters, some different types of gas permeability steels can be made. This processing will be of great value to the industrial development.
