As oil depletion and the greenhouse effect gradually growing, it is imperative to find clean energy sources. Hydrogen as an alternative energy can effectively address these two problems. However, hydrogen is colorless, tasteless, odorless, and flammable gas. When the hydrogen concentration in air of 4% -97%, it in the risk of explosion. Currently, the semiconductor-based hydrogen sensor has been able to achieve the thin, light weight, and short volume. However, it also has many restricts in application. The aim of this study is to manufacture the hydrogen sensing system, which include MSC-51, single chip, ADC0804, and LCD module. The single chip is used as the controller and operational analysis. The ADC0804 transfer the analog single (hydrogen sensing data) to digital single. After the operational analysis, the LCD displays the hydrogen concentration and hydrogen sensing current. If the hydrogen concentration is higher than the threshold voltage (it means dangerous), our detecting system will send the warning signal. In addition, the gas sensing system with bluetooth will send the sensing signal to the client end of PC server. The database is by built using Vistual Basic 6.0. Our studied sensing system has the advantages of small size, low cost and low power dissipation. Furthermore, the gas sensing system are also fabricated on FPGA. The finite state machine and linear interpolation method are used in this study. Both the steady state and dynamic state are studied. The system on chip (SOC) is expected to be realized in the future.
