Indicative pollutants in Taiwan whose pollutant standards index are greater than one hundred are focused on suspended particulates (PM10) and ozone (O3). Ozone is secondary pollutant that generated from photochemical reactions by two precursors named nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). As the ozone on the environment and human health impact of a considerable degree, is also one of the greenhouse gases, so study the ozone problem is not neglect. This study from 1998 to 2009 EPA monitoring data, combined with past research, on Taiwan''s Ozone pollution control strategy using Smog production model. n addition to the annual trend, seasonal and spatial distribution analysis of project. Another reference to EPA in recent years, major national environmental policy point in time, resolve the situation changes over the years the master species. In this study, trend analysis, the 1998 to 2009 between the northern part of air quality control district VOCs-limited number of days the proportion was 85%, year to year are to maintain control at a higher percentage of VOCs; air quality in Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas in central and trends in the results are in compared with similar control is also the proportion of VOCs, and Southwest Air Quality Region tend to VOCs and NOx control at the same time. In the seasonal analysis, the four western Taiwan area air quality control VOCs-limited percentage of the number of days in winter. In addition to air quality outside the north, in the central, Southwest, and the air quality in Kaohsiung and Pingtung areas of VOCs-limited number of days the percentage of control to the lowest in summer. Spatial distribution result, from 1998 to 2009, the air quality district in western Taiwan will be four stations of VOCs-limited proportion of almost all above 0.8. The results can be found in the metropolitan area as the main control station to VOCs species, suburbs or near the sea as the main control station to NOx species.
