The quality of nursing has direct impact on the image of a hospital. Nursing staff concentrate on their career and caring of patients, but neglect the important of self care. Over work load and unhealthy working environment tend to lead to early retirement or turnover intention. Moreover, high rate of resignation would directly affect hospital operating cost and the quality of nursing. This research discuss the relationships within turnover intention, work values and quality of work life through collecting effective questionnaires. The data was examined by analysis of variance, correlation analysis, structural equation modeling (SEM) and in-depth interview. The result indicated that it is positive relation between work values of nursing staff and quality of work life; negative relation not only between work values of nursing staff and turnover intention, but also between quality of work life and turnover intention. The investigation had proved that work values, quality of work life and turnover intention are related to each other; and we regard quality of work life as intervening variables between work values and turnover intention. Through the result of this research, we expect to assist nursing staff dedicate to their jobs and reduce turnover intention by properly appointing every nursing staff according to their distinguishing work values.
