This study concentrates on the current development of textile industry in Taiwan with emphasis on R&D strategy of high value-added products so as to assess the internal and external environment factors analyzing the advantage and optimal competition strategy formulation through the mission statement of the target company; and thus summarizes the essential factors related to the business strategy formulation, thereby initiating business strategy and presenting the findings to the textile industry. This study is making use of the explosive case study method and has studied the related archives comprehensively, and collected secondary data extensively with findings as follows: 1.With the business mission statement, internal, industrial, and macro environment assessment factors are critical for business strategy. These environment factors also contribute to optimal competition strategy formulation and business strategy revision of reference. 2.With the business mission statement, the optimal competition strategy must be executed by developing R&D strategy. The target company must do R&D on high value-added products to improve profits and keep leading status within industry. 3.With the specific strategy execution, the target company can set up a green team to be in charge of developing R&D on environmental protection technology and continued increasing R&D expenses to intensify competition, keep close contact on international client and expand investment green industry to achieve business mission statement.
