Popis: | 98 The main purpose of this study was to investigate: first, the effect of the "Scratch" program worked on fifth grade students in logical reasoning abilities; second, the effect of the "Scratch" program worked on fifth grade students in scientific problem-solving abilities; third, the learning progress of the fifth grade students in learning "Scratch" programming language. The targets of the study were the fifth grade students (eight classes) of Wan-hua District of Taipei City who were taught by the researcher and taken as the experimental group. The experimental lessons were adapted from the fifth grade version of the Natural Science, "The weather has changed"(the second unit of the Newton publication) and " The nature of the liquid"(the third unit of the Newton publication). Students in the Natural Area learning used Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices Test and new-edition problem-solving test which were learned from Computer classes to do pre-test and post-test; then getting data of logical reasoning capabilities and scientifc problem solving capabilities respectively in order to understand students’logical reasoning capabilities before/after learning Scratch program if their logical reasoning capabilities and scientific problem solving capabilities were significantly affected and analyze students’working sheets, interview records and teacher reflective journals and other qualitative data analysis to assess the effectiveness of teaching. The main results of this study are as follows: First, implementation of the Scratch programming instruction could increase students’ logical reasoning capabilities but it did not reach significant difference. Second, implementation of the Scratch programming instruction could increase students’ scientific-problem solving capabilities and it reached significant difference. In, prevention, There were significant differences in defining the causes, preventing problems and the points effectiveness of the effectiveness; but there were no significant differences in solving problems and the points of the flexibilities. Third, there were 96.6% of the students liked to learn how to use Scratch program in the computer class; there were 93.6% students liked to learn the natural areas modules with Scratch program. Scratch program could greatly enhance students’ learning fun. |
