In general, most of the customized insoles are used to medical treatment. They are seldom used as the auxiliary tool for walking. Besides, producing customized insoles is time-consuming and costly in the traditional manufacturing process. Thus, the future work of this study is to develop a new system for customized insoles to be widely used by the general public. In the traditional manufacturing process, customized insoles are made by first sculpting the plantar models with plaster, and then processing twice. This method is irreversible. Thus, reverse engineering is used to combine CAD and CAM in this study to design customized insoles. In addition, all data can be digitized for easy modification in the future. This study adopts the past development of foot pressure measurement system combining with three dimensional images to design insoles. Besides, body weight is calculated by means of Hooke’s law on the purpose of knowing the bearing capacity of the thickness of insoles in different material. Finally, customized insoles get the functions of average pressure and correction by adjusting the surface. The process is not only be rapid but also redistributes the foot pressure. This way is a new direction in insole manufacturing.
