Popis: | 98 This study examines the application of teaching models which integrate Creative Problem Solving (CPS) into “Buoyant Force and Frictional Force” scientific games. An action research approach was adopted. Through interweaving instruction and reflection, the difficulties encountered in teaching were analyzed. In addition, the researcher also gained personal reflection on teaching and professional development. The subjects were fifth grade students from He-Xie Elementary School (pseudonym). The instructions were conducted in three stages. Each stage was conducted once or twice weekly for two-class periods per session, thus totaling three six-class periods. The resulting data such as teaching video, interview records, observations of cooperative teaching, worksheets, feedback about students’ interest, opinions about activities, and teaching notes, were collected and analyzed. The results are as follow: first, CPS could be incorporated into teaching objectives and suitably implemented in scientific games instruction; second, the efficacy of scientific games instruction were influenced by grouping methods, team cooperation, instructional design, instructional time, and students’ interests in science; and finally, professional development in the researcher’s ability in instructional design and teaching, and the teachers’ research ability. Based on the results, suggestions are made for designing scientific games, instructional implementation, and future development for teachers and researchers interested in applying scientific games to education. |
