Popis: | 98 It is now easy to access Japanese learning materials on the Internet. This thesis thus investigates how Japanese learners in Taiwan make use of such websites, by taking students at National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology as examples. The Japanese learning websites can be categorized into five groups. The first are the websites of Japanese teachers, and these contain information about their personal research interests. The second kind are websites from language schools, which promote their courses and teaching materials and often provide exercises for Japanese learners. The third kind are the websites of publishers, which may offer electronic versions of their books and magazines, as well as material on Japanese for special purposes, such as tourism, business, and so on. The fourth kind are the websites of universities, which provide on-line teaching materials but which can only be accessed by registered students. The fifth kind are the websites of software companies, which offer general information about learning Japanese, but offer more interactive functions. The findings of this research are as follows: 1.Students in the Japanese Department access the Japanese learning websites more frequently than those who are not in the Japanese Department. 2.When the learners have questions, they go to their classmates first, and next go to the relevant websites. 3.Most learners access pay websites for one of two reasons: the access fee is paid by school, and the information they provide is more comprehensive. 4.The advantages of using Japanese learning websites are that they allow a flexible learning schedule, repeatable learning, and learning at any time or place. The disadvantages are that the information may not be understood and the information is not related to the learner’s questions. 5.From a learner’s perspective, a comprehensive website should at least include current events about Japan, Japanese proficiency test information, Japanese culture, in addition to Japanese learning materials. However, most of the websites focus on learning materials, so that the content of the websites seem to be lack of diversity. |
