The Study of the Relationship between the Role Perception and Work Satisfaction of Continuing School Teachers of Different Generations

This study aims at the understanding of the relationship between role perception and work satisfaction as well as different background variables of continuing school teacher of different generations. Analysis and discussion on their relationship are presented in this study. Questionnaire method on this research topic was conducted among continuing school teachers in Taiwan County. Stratified randomsampling was applied to 231 valid questionnaires samples. Statistical analysis software, SPSS 14.0, was utilized for data analysis. Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation, stepwise multiple regression, and canonical correlation analysis were used to identify key factors. The conclusions of this study were was follows: 1. Role perception of continuing school teachers was above the average. 2. Work satisfaction of continuing school teachers was medium degree. 3. Role of continuing school teachers from different gender, marriage status, year of teaching, school’s location, and job position vary significantly. Role perception of continuing school teachers of different educational level and school scale have no significant difference. 4. Work Satisfaction of continuing school teachers of different marriage status, year of teaching, and job position vary significantly. Work satisfaction of continuing school teachers of different gender, school’s area, and position make no significant difference. 5. There was a conspicuous positive relation in the role perception and work satisfaction of continuing school teachers. 6. There was a noticeable anticipation of the role perception and work satisfaction of continuing school teachers. Based on the conclusions, some suggestions are provided for the educational administrative organization and school administration, continuing school teachers and future studies.
