| Popis: | 98 The main purpose of this study is to improve the market share of Taiwanese financial holding companies’ banking and insurance business, relieve the funding pressure of their banking subsidiaries, increase financial holding companies’ overall profit margin, reduce their life insurance subsidiaries’ pressure on capital utilization efficiency and capital adequacy ratio (RBC), and provide customers with a more diversified selection of insurance products through joint promotion in order to enhance the fee income for banking and insurance business. In this study we surveyed domestic financial sector’s banking and insurance management specialists and insurance business units through e-mail questionnaires so as to make a professional judgment about a public banking institution’s best way of establishing an insurance agency business and selecting a best strategic partner. In this study, a total of 40 questionnaires were issued, and 35 were answered; totally 33 of them were valid questionnaires, and the effective rate was 82.50%. SWOT analysis and hierarchical scoring method,and TOPSIS evaluation method were used in this study for analysis of organization building. Based on the results, for a public bank the business model of setting up an internal department concurrently conducting insurance agency business is more profitable than that of directly setting up an insurance agency subsidiary. In selecting a best strategic partner, Taiwan Financial Holding Co., Ltd. was used as the case for empirical analysis. The weighted result obtained through the hierarchical scoring method was further analyzed with TOPSIS evaluation method for evaluation of strategic partners, and the result shows that A1 is the best strategic partner.
