Some Secret Embedding Schemes for Different Entities

Data hiding is a topic in network security. In order to transmit secret message by public Internet, we have to conceal private message in some entities. Here, we introduce two different data hiding methods. The first scheme is embed the secret in a compression domain by modified Huffman code. The second one is a flexible EMD data hiding method. In chapter 2, we demonstrate an effective lossless data hiding scheme using modified Huffman coding. The binary secret message is concurrently embedded and encoded with a cover medium such as a video file, an audio file, or even a text file. The proposed scheme not only provides good data hiding capacity and data recovery capability, but also being efficient in space saving (the stego medium is much smaller than the cover medium). The experimental results show that the stego code can saves 30% to 35% of space compared with the cover medium. In chapter 3, a flexible data-hiding scheme based on exploiting modification direction (EMD) is introduced. Our proposed scheme will satisfy objectives users who want to produce high-quality stego images or want a huge hiding capacity. This flexibility is accomplished by a novel magic matrix function developed in our proposed scheme. Our magic matrix function can generate multiple magic matrixes with a hiding capacity is decided by users. Then, all the generated magic matrixes are tested to find an optimal one that produces the highest-quality stego image. The experimental results show that our proposed scheme outperforms other methods.
