A Study of Motivation and Satisfaction of Sport Tourism - The Case of 2009 Rotary Internation Sun-Moon Lake Marathon

Popis: | 98 The purpose of this study was to understand participants’ participation motivation and the participation satisfaction, and analyze relationship between participation moti-vation and satisfaction and whether participation motivation can obviously predict par-ticipation satisfaction or not on 2009 Rotary International marathon activity in Sun-Moon Lake. The research used convenient sampling selected 362 adult participants from the 2009 marathon activity in Taiwan. The analysis results showed that: (1) Male participants had more participation motivation for excitement and challenge than female. The participants under the age of 29 had higher social participation motivation than the age above 50. High school students or undergraduate students had higher participation motivation on sociality and self-satisfaction than the graduate students. The marathon group showed more participation motivation on excitement or challenge than the fun-run group. Participants who travel for two days had higher participation motivation on sociality and leisure experience than the participants who travel for one day. Partici-pants who run for two to five years had more participation motivation on self-satisfaction than those who run not more than a year. (2) The participants under the age of 29 had higher participation satisfaction on marathon schedule and location than those who are 40 something. Participants who work in agriculture and industry field had higher participation satisfaction on marathon schedule and location than students. High school students had higher participation satisfaction on marathon schedule and location than the graduate students. Participants who live in Southern Taiwan had higher partici-pation satisfaction on marathon schedule and location than those who live in Northern Taiwan. The marathon group had higher participation satisfaction on quality promise, marathon schedule, and location than the fun-run group. Participants who run for two to five years, six to nine years, or more than ten years had higher participation satisfaction on marathon schedule and location than those who run not more than a year. (3) The correlation analysis between participants’ participation motivation and participation sat-isfaction of the 2009 marathon participants showed that the whole participation motiva-tion and participation satisfaction were middle correlation. The motivation for 2009 marathon activity in Sun-Moon Lake has a positive significant effect on satisfaction. |
