Popis: | 98 The purpose of this study is to explore, under the context of “one-on-one” Chinese teaching practicum, if teacher’s referential questions were improved, will the quality of teacher-student’s conversation be improved? The language student’s answers to teacher’s questions can also be improved? How the individual differences influence the student’s reactions when teacher’s referential questions were improved? Based on A-B single subject research design, two “one-on-one” instructional cases were investigated. One student-teacher and one language student were in each case. Intervention happened when the researcher, together with the student-teachers, prepared 3 referential questions for each lesson. Each referential question followed with three extended questions to stimulate student’s intention to answer the question. Student-teachers were asked to apply the prepared questions in their instructions for three lessons. All the instructional processes were recorded and three to four 40-minutes-record were randomly selected and transcribed. Interview for both student teachers and language students were all conducted before the research intervention and after the research. All the data collected were been quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed. The research found that by improving the reverential questions in a one-on-one Chinese instruction, results will differ according to the individual differences of the learners. For case one, the learner subjected to the teacher’s questioning change, and we found that both the teacher’s questioning skill and the teacher-student conversation quality were improved. For case two, the learner has strong belief in language learning, therefore, both the teacher’s questioning skill and the teacher-student conversation quality have no significant differences before and after research intervention. |
