Szchungshi hot spring is one of the most important spa destinations in Taiwan. The increasing hot spring water withdrawn and wells drilled for recreation use are causing the depletion of hot spring resources. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the drawdown of three new installing wells by Theis equation. The hydraulic conductivity and storage coefficient are calculated from water pressure data of four hot spring production wells. For the condition 1, the drawdowns of two new wells of the Tin Yuet spa resort are about 0.8-4.5 m during a one-day pumping period with a hydraulic conductivity of 20-140 m2/day. For the condition 2, we estimate the drawdonws by three new wells in a one-day pumping period are about 2.5-3.0 m with a hydraulic conductivity of 80 m2/day and a pumping rate of 120 cmd. For the long term, i.e. one year, the decline or recover of water pressure in the hot spring aquifer depend on the rainfall and total extraction rate. Water pressure will drop rapidly in the dry season and when the extraction volume exceeds the natural recharge rate, and recover in the wet season.
