Due to great impacts of communication and internet developments, the demand of video is getting more and more. There are lots of discussions about video compression in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) and video surveillance systems. DVC has been developed to fulfill a scenario of low complexity as well as low-cost design compared to conventional video compression such as H.264 which is high cost and power-consumption because of a high complexity encoder. On the other hand, DVC is suitable for the case of a lot of encoders and few decoders and can be applied to static environment like farm and forest. This thesis emphasizes an implementation of DVC on embedded system TMS320DM6446 evaluation board and constructs an automatic system that captures real video data, encodes, transfers through internet, decodes and finally displays reconstructed images. In the process of implementation, a look-up table is used to speed up the decoder and it can speed up 6 times as fast as the ordinary one. Eventually, the perspectives of DVC on embedded system are exhibited.
