The study on the junior high school students' anti-durg knowledge and the need of anti-drug education : The case Study of Chia-yi City.

Popis: | 98 Due to the seriousness of drug abuse and the fact that more juveniles were addicted to drugs, this study focus on the anti-drug actions in junior high school. Even though governments work hard in the control of narcotic drugs, the problem seems does not change much. As a result, drug abstention and preventive anti-drug education become the emerging methods of anti-drug campaigns. The purpose of this study is to show that drug control campaigns should start from the preventive aspect and the campaigns in school is very important. We have to know the educational backgrounds and the needs of students first so that we can teach them well. Students of eight junior high schools in Chiayi city were included in this study. A total of 665 questionnaires were given, and a total of 600 valid questionnaires were received. Survey data was analyzed by SPSS12.0 statistical software(including One-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficient analysis ). Results of this study are as follows: (1) The anti-drug education in junior high schools is bad. (2) The needs for anti-drug education of junior high school students is high-intermediate level (3) Lectures from a drug abstainer is the most efficient activity from students` aspects. While anti-drug stage plays are the most adored anti-drug activity. (4) Most of the anti-drug knowledge of students comes from school. (5) 〝The needs of anti-drug information〞 and 〝The self esteemed anti-drug knowledge〞 shows intermediate positive correlations. (6) Students who had visited anti-drug websites show higher needs of anti-drug education. (7) Second grade students and third grade students did better than first grade students in the 〝Drug knowledge test〞 of this survey. (8) Students who had better academic performance got higher points than those who are not good at academic activities. According to this survey, we propose the following suggestions. (1) Teachers should use various kinds of anti-drug activities to teach students instead of traditional boring one. (2) More continue education activities for teachers are required so that teachers could level up their anti-drug cognition. (3) More interactive anti-drug activities are in dire need. (4) Teachers should ask students to visit anti-drug websites more frequently. (5) More anti-drug education activities are needed for students who are going to be second-graders.
