The Study on the Work Stress and Job Satisfaction of the School Nurses with Administrative Position

Popis: | 97 The purpose of this study is to explore the concurrently administrative function-holding elementary school nurses about their work stress and job satisfaction presently, and to discuss various backgrounds school nurse’s work stress and job satisfaction. The relationship of their work stress and job satisfaction is also discussed. This study employs method of questionnaire, and is based on the school nurses in 186 Taoyuan County elementary schools. Total copies are 186 questionnaires, for which of them 150 returned are valid, effective response rate at 80.6%. The statistics applied for data analysis are descriptive statistics, t-tes, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s correlation. The major results of the study are as follows: 1. The over-all work stress dimension on concurrently administrative function-holding elementary school nurses reveal a moderate level, especially the pressure of the concurrently professional duty is the highest; the over-all job satisfaction reveal a lower level, especially the satisfaction of the work itself is the lowest. 2. Significant differences on their work stress are related from the past work experience、concurrently administrative positions(including accountant、school lunch secretary、health & labor insurance manager)、the scale of the school and the numbers of students. 3. Significant differences on their job satisfaction are related form the professional title、past work experience、concurrently administrative position (personal management) and scale of the school. 4. The work stress and job satisfaction of the concurrently administrative function-holding elementary school nurses reveal negative correlation. It shows that the higher work stress the school nurses have, the lower job satisfaction the school nurses get. The findings of the study offer suggestions for the education authorities, schools, school nurses and further studies. |
