Popis: | 97 Because population and number of species of amphibions and reptiles decreased dramatically with the huge change on global climate and environment, it leads to several significant issues raised for biological diversity and ecological protection. Recently, experts on ecological protection have put much effort for amphibions and reptiles to investigate what roles do they play in the global ecosystem. Behavior of visitors and time they spent in the amphibians and reptiles exhibit house in the Taipei Zoo were observed and recorded through the questionnaire designed for this study. The targeted sampling visitors include students from elementary school. The questionnaire in this study was also designed to get the background information of visitors, to identify the preference to the exhibited topics, and to evaluate the improvement on the knowledge and visitors’ attitude on ecological protection. In addition, the proprietor of the amphibians and reptiles exhibit house was interviewed to understand the proprietor’s philosophy. The purpose of this study is to synthesize the information collected from the designed questionnaire as well as the interview to investigate the interacted relationship among the behavior, knowledge and attitude of targeted visitors, the exhibited topics, and the proprietor’s philosophy. The results of the study are presented as the followings: 1. The average time the targeted visitors spent in the exhibited house was 25.7 min, and the longest time span they spent for the topic is the ‘living animal immerse room,’ and the visiting time between boys and girls is not significantly different at. 2. There is a significant difference on the positive behavior and negative behavior for boys and girls at, but there is no significant difference on the middle behavior. 3. For the investigation on the mean time spent for various styles of exhibits, two significant results were found. The first one is that boys’ and girls’ mean time spent on the operating exhibits for middle grade students presents significantly different. The mean time spent by a boy is longer than a girl. In addition, there is a significant difference on the mean time spent on the visiting exhibits for middle grade and high grade students. The mean time spent on the visiting exhibits by a high-grade student is longer than a middle-grade student. 4. T-test was employed to test the difference on visiting behavior for the sex attribute. It was found that for positive behaviors girls are more frequent on observing, reading and talking than boys, but boys are more frequent on exploring animals, recording, operating and repeating visits. For negative behaviors, boys are more frequent to act on ignoring and climbing than girls. There is no significant difference found for medium behavior. 5. There is a significant difference on the improvement of knowledge for boys and girls at. It shows that the improvements for high grade visitors are greater. In addition, there is no significant difference at on both the improvement of knowledge and ecological protection attitude for boys and girls of the middle grade visitors and the high grade visitors. 6. There are positive linear relationships between time spent for exhibited house and the improvement of knowledge as well as between time spent for exhibited house and the ecological protection attitude. It implies that when time spent in the exhibited house is longer, the degree on improvement of knowledge will be greater and the ecological protection attitude will be better. |
