Design Analysis and Deformation Improvement for the Plastic Injection 3C Parts Using the Moldflow Software

With the rapid development of CAE package software, mold flow analysis is widely used in many applications. But more and more complicate part design will affect the analysis result. In this study, the bottom case of a notebook、mobil phone back cover and connector were analyzed by Moldflow software with Dual Domain to investigate the effect of thickness design, mechanical design, mold design and molding parameters. How to reduce efficiently the deformation problem of the molded parts has also been studied on the design stage. The result shows that the inject location and part design have obviously effect on the warpage, and the U-curve made by injection velocity and pressure will effect on the stress of part. The higher injection pressure, the better molding ability and flow length. As a result CAE software is a good tool to optimize the design and get the better quality of the molded parts.
