The Raising Abilities and Attitudes of the Early Childhood Major Students of Participating in the Children' s Theatre- Dou-Dou Theatre of National Taichung University

The main purpose of this research was to understand the raising abilities of early childhood major college students and their attitudes of participating in the Dou-Dou children's theatre. Moreover, this study also investigated the effects of the various backgrounds of college students on their raising abilities and their attitudes in participating the Dou-Dou children' s theatre. The questionnaire which was developed by the researcher was the major method for data collecting. The semi-interviews of 9 members, including teachers and students were also applied for this study. There were 358 students who major in early childhood education of National Taichung University including the students who have already graduated and undergraduate participated in this study. Based on the results of this study, the researcher provided some suggestions. The findings were as follows: 1.The college students felt the best part of the Dou-Dou children' s theatre were " learning how to create the stage backgrounds and the costumes ", " to see the smiling face of the audiences " " to discover the potential abilities of the classmates". 2.The college students felt the most difficult part of the Dou-Dou children' s theatre were " the loading of the work is not fair for everybody ", " it is hard to manage the limited time", " disputes with classmates ". 3.The college students felt the abilities raising the most in the Dou-Dou children' s theatre were " bodily- kinesthetic ", " problem solving ", " creativity ", " interpersonal relationship " and " the re-creation of the waste ". 4..The findings indicated that there were significant differences of the college student's raising abilities and the attitudes among the different independent variables such as, the leader experiences, actor experiences, director experiences, and different grades. 5. The findings indicated that there were no significant differences of the college student's raising abilities and the attitudes among the different independent variables such as, the various major of studies of high school, the experience of taking drama classes, times of participating in the Dou-Dou children' s theatre. 5.The significant correlation was found between the participating attitude and their raising abilities of the early childhood major students participating in the Dou-Dou children' s theatre
