The Effects of Conduction Picture Books Classroom Guidance upon Children Gender Stereotype and Gender Interaction Relation

Popis: | 97 The purpose of this study is to investigate what is the effects of execution “picture books classroom guidance” upon enhancing “gender stereotype” and “gender interaction” to the elementary third class children. The study use “quasi-experimental” method through the sampling of two elementary third classes in Pintung County. Both the experimental and control group cover 29 pupils, each contains 16 boys and 13 girls. The experimental group accepted continually 12 times, 80min/time, once a week, totally 960 minutes of mentioned classroom guidance, but do nothing to the control group. The study decided that experimental treatment as independent variable, the post-data taken on “gender stereotype inventory” and “gender interaction inventory” for both experimental and control group as the dependent variable, and the pre-taken data for both groups as co-variable, and we conducted ANCOVA. The children of experimental group write “unit picture book feedback list” upon the end of each activity and write ” a whole feedback list” upon the end of experiment. Finally, we get the results as follows: 1.The elementary third children have intermediate degree of “gender stereotype”, the highest is interest activities, the lowest is house chores; 2. The elementary third children are having good gender interaction relations, especially good in the aspect of aggressive behavior, but poor in the aspect of co-operative behavior. 3.Gender equality picture books classroom guidance showed no significant effect to the reducing of gender stereotype and to the enhancing of gender interaction relation to elementary third children. 4.The experimental group children showed positive attitude on the execution of picture books classroom guidance. 5.The experimental group children have lower gender stereotype and better gender interaction after they’ve participated in the classroom guidance. Meantime, based on the mentioned results, we’d propose some concrete proposals for the enhancing of gender equality practice and further study in the future. |
