Popis: | 97 In organic pollutant contaminated sites soil usually polluted with various kinds of organic toxins at different extent. We called such a contaminated site a pollutant-compounded site. Many questions need to be answered while treating such a site including (1) what are the pollutants and contents and their degradability, (2) how much of the added peroxide is competed and consumed due to each toxin’s degradation, and (3) the competition of oxidizing agent at the presence of organic substance in soil. In this study we investigate the existence of various chlorophenols in soil and their competition of the added oxidizing agent during the chemical oxidation process. The objectives include: (1) to investigate the chlorophenol degradation at different levels with respect to initial amounts of the oxidizing agents, (2) to realize the chlorophenol degradation at the presence of various in a multiple toxins-contaminated soil oxidant additions, and (3) to determine the competition effect of organic substances in soil. To simplify the experimental design, a combusted soil was used to study the competition of oxidizing agent among chlorophenols at 0, 250, 500 and 1000 ppm. Peroxide was added at 4mmole、3mmole、2mmole、1mmole per two grams of soil. Later same experimental design was employed to treat chlorophenol-contaminated soils with various content of organic substances. The results demonstrated (1) at same organic-content soil, chlorophenols’ degradation efficiency showed little difference, (2) when treating single toxin, CPs degradation efficiency dropped as the chlorine content on the phenolic ring increased; yet when treating multiple CPs, the total percent degradation of CPs increased as the number of CPs in soil increased, and (3) soil organic content had little effect in mono-chlorophenol degradation, but PCP degradation dropped nearly 47% if soil organic content was greater than 1%. |
