Waterfront Development Strategy for One-Three Wharf of Kaohsiung Harbor

| Popis: | 97 In this study, the water front development of one to three wharfs of Kaohsiung Harbor is investigated. For background information, the current development of one-three wharfs of Kaohsiung Harbor, geographic location, utilization of each district, and the relevant management regulations are collected. And a tourist satisfaction survey questionnaire form is designed to understand visitor’s tendency. Based on analysis of tourist satisfaction survey questionnaire result, literature review, on-site observation, as well as successful national and international cases, four-class problems including recreational planning, operational management, surrounding environmental problems, and relevant regulations and laws are investigated. The responding strategy of the present study includes: (1)on recreational planning of the waterfront area, a planning strategy having unique image is proposed to avoid lack of overall characteristics and insufficient green lands. (2)on operation management, a multi-directional strategy is introduced to enhance attraction, improve water quality, create customer service oriented park, adjust type of operation and marketing strategy, and strengthen public participation through third party organization, so as to improve water front development. (3)on surrounding environment, integrity strategy is proposed to increase outward connecting opportunity of this area, needs of public facilities, and integrate neighboring business circles. (4)on relevant regulation and laws, clear and precise regulations are enforced to active functions of water areas, preserve historic warehouse area, so as to provide positive effects on overall recreational environment. Application of the proposed strategy in this study will enhance attraction, competitive capability, and optimization of waterfront recreational areas of Kaohsiung Harbor, and develop special imaged waterfront area with overall integrated considerations. |
