Improvement of the Color Filter Process by Using Taguchi Method

Liquid crystal display (LCD) offers tremendous advantages‚ including power saving, light weight, no radiation and convenient portability. LCD are gradually replacing conventional display elements and becoming widely used in auto navigation systems, notebook computers etc. This research used Taguchi method to improve the chromatism aberration issue on the LCD color filter.We selected the air knife pressure, rinse valve 3 open/close, glass substrate speed in the cleaning process and developing tank temperature of the RGB process as four main effective factors‚then we used fishbone diagram analysis .We got a tendency thorough 2 level orthogonal array of Taguchi method with L824 form. We got best process parameters to improve the chromatism aberration issue. Then we used Taguchi method with L934. Finally we used the statistical process control (SPC) to appraise the experimentation result. Air knife pressure and rinse valve 3 on/off have move significant effect on the S/N ratio for the color difference. However, we still not found the best data for the glass substrate moving speed in the rinsing process and the developing tank temperature. And through the analysis of the data, we found air knife pressure and rinse valve 3 have the same driving approach for the S/N ratio. All other factors combinations have different approach for the S/N ratio. These combinations have obvious interaction we should take care about these when we need to make fine tuning.
