The next generation of mobile wireless system is expected to allow multimode terminal to simultaneously access multiple network for a variety of services with an appropriate quality of service. Since TCP is the most popular transport layer protocol in network, many studies proposed a mechanism to handle TCP over multiple paths. In addition, TCP over Wireless Network or Long Fat Network is underutilization of bandwidth and parallel TCP connection can full utility of bandwidth. A key challenge in parallel TCP is finding optimal number of connections. Although many researches have been proposed adjusting connection number algorithm to improve TCP throughput on single path, how to configure the number of TCP connection on multipath that may share a common bottleneck is still lacking. For solving above problem, we use Nash Bargaining Game framework to model parallel TCP connections over multiple paths and design a mechanism, called MPTC, to estimate the number of connection according to the effect of other paths. Simulation results show that MPTC can maintain stable and low number of TCP connection while achieving reasonable good transport throughput.
