Research of Mg, Fe Codoped Near-stoichiometric Lithium Tantalate Single Crystal

The photorefractive crystals and the original optoelectrical materials have been widely regarded as the primary material for the manufacture of high-capacity storage device. In particular, The photorefractive crystal have drawn much attention from the technology world in many countries due to their advantages such as small volume, high storage capacity, and optical calculation. Among all the the photorefractive crystal, using LiTaO3 crystal to manufacture high-capacity storage device has been the focus of the research groups around the world. In this thesis, we have successfully grown Mg、Fe codoped SLT crystals with different concentration. Through the variation of the Fe concentration, we discussed the effect of Fe concentration on the characteristics of the crystal. Several tests, including ICP, X-ray measurement, EPD, optical measurements (FTIR and UV-Visible-NIR), were employed to evaluate the crystal and to study the of substitution mechanism. Though the oxidation annealing, transition of the oxidation state of iron ions was investigated and the primary evaluation was given using optical measurements, including FTIR and UV-Visible-NIR.
