Popis: | 96 The purpose of this research was to examine the relationships among Career Plateauing, Organizational Commitment, and Organization Citizenship Behavior and their sub-dimensions for expatriates in Taiwan. In this study, two dimensions of career plateauing, hierarchical plateauing and job content plateauing were measured subjectively by applying a six-item scale for its dimension from Milliman. For organizational commitment, two constructs, affective commitment and continuous commitment, were measured by an eight-item scale for each dimension borrowing from Meyer and Allen. Finally, organizational citizenship behavior contains five sub-dimensions: altruism, sportsmanship, consciousness, courtesy, and civic virtue. To measure these dimensions, the author used the tools developed by Organ. All the constructs in the study were modified to fit to the 5-point Likert-type scale. Two survey methods were used to collect data: online and pen-and-paper based survey. Using statistical techniques such as Mean, Standard Deviation, t-Test, Analysis of Variance, and Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, a total of 102 questionnaires were collected for analysis. The findings were summarized as follows: 1. Career plateauing and its sub-dimensions, hierarchical plateauing and job content plateauing, were all significantly and negatively correlated with affective commitment, but not continuous commitment. However, the strength of the correlation is only medium. 2. Career plateauing and its sub-dimensions were not significantly correlated with Organization Citizenship Behavior and its sub-dimensions for expatriates in Taiwan. 3. Significant and negative correlation was found between Sportsmanship, the dimension of organizational citizenship behavior, and Continuous Commitment. Significant and positive correlation was found between Courtesy, the dimension of organizational citizenship behavior, and Affective Commitment. However, the strength of the correlations was low. |
