The growth of wireless communications is spurred by the consumer desire for untethered access to information, entertainment and news. Current wireless communication technology is unable to make high-rate target. For example, the rate is up to gigabit per second. In order to make this high-rate goal, Standard IEEE 802.15.3c is established. It uses the spectrum surrounding the 60GHz for operating frequency. This abundance of widely available spectrum has the ability to support high-rate, unlicensed wireless communications. This thesis designs for a baseband receiver for IEEE 802.15.3c HSI-OFDM mode subscriber station. The transmitter, baseband channel model, and receiver are written by C code, and the receiver part is further implemented by fixed-point C code. Algorithms and circuit implementation for timing and frequency synchronization, carrier frequency offset(CFO) / sampling clock offset(SCO) estimation and compensation, channel estimation and updating are embedded in the receiver architecture. Besides, this thesis proposes a 4/8/16-way parallel data processing receiver architecture for high-rate goal and takes the hardware reduction into account. Finally, the simulation results under the different channel model shows that the proposed receiver can combat multi-path Rayleigh fading, CFO and SCO effect, and recover the data successfully.
