After observing the reforming process of Taiwan's education from the perspective of a member of educators, the researcher found a lack of "beauty" in current education. In this paper, "beauty" is defined as the beauty in educational aesthetics. As an emerging theory under the philosophy of education, the study of educational aesthetics involves with philosophy, education and arts. An educator who has the idea of educational aesthetics will be introspective and will not be ossified. She will understand that "education is art" and believes that a teacher is not only a person that passes the right way on, instructs the studies and explains the puzzling things, but also the one who brings hopes to her students. To put educational aesthetics into practice, according to Professor Chao-Lin Fong's discourse, a process of muse, to meet accidentally, to have rapport with each other and apprehension among teachers and students is necessary, and the "beauty" of which could only become possible in alternative schools. The researcher intended to examine if certain level of relationship between educational aesthetics and alternative schools exists, and therefore selected Ci-Xing Waldorf School as the research subject. As an alternative school, the curriculum arrangements and instructions in Ci-Xing are quite different from normal schools. The goal of this study is to explore the reason why the "beauty" in education brings "hope" to students, and to analyze if the emergence of alternative schools has been related to educational aesthetics. A mainly qualitative approach was adopted, four teachers and parents of Ci-Xing were interviewed, and data collected were scrutinized. Thus, it was found that Ci-Xing does exhibit the ideals of educational beauty. The teachers consider fostering creative students as their responsibility. In order to help students to grow up as whole-persons in a liberal environment, the teachers respect the uniqueness of each student while maintaining their learning interests. By practicing this approach, the teachers and students realized the beauty of education. The term "education" is no longer heavy and boring. Instead, it sheds a light of hope, which encourages everyone to move on, and to face any challenges ahead. Therefore, the researcher believes, if educational aesthetics could be implemented in normal educational environments in addition to alternative schools, not only the current situation of education could be improved, new bloods that this era needs would be brought into our society, and the competitiveness of our country will advance.
