Popis: | 96 To explore and analyze the adoption of a wireless remote monitoring system (WRMS) impacts on its corresponding operational activities for general consumers in service industry. Base on transaction cost theory (TCT), a case study is used to analyze the context of governance choice and assess the participants’ impacts of adopting WRMS. Two approaches were conducted, in-depth interview with the chief information officer and on-site observations concerning the interactions between service workers and customers. The findings showed that asset specificity, transaction uncertainty, and frequency of transactions had great impacts on organizational structure and governance choice for the case company which adopted WRMS to create value. Research findings showed that TCT is appropriate to formulate the conceptual framework for better understanding the WRMS implementation and its impacts on a wellness company. |
