Popis: | 96 Economic globalization is a core issue as well as a worldwide trend that is mostly discussed. It not only accelerates the flow of global economic without border via multinational corporations (MNCs), but also promotes regional integration. There are three regional economics, Europe Union, North America and East Asia, about to be developed. In the future, they’ll have free trade in their own region and competition to the external trade. It is projected to start ASEAN plus One (APO) Free Trade Area (FTA) in 2010. By that time, regional trade in East Asia will surpass its exportation to Western countries. The rapid rise of China helps to accelerate a comprehensive integration of East Asian economic, and also enhance its competition to Japan for the economic leading position among East Asia. However, the overall East Asian techniques still deeply depend on Western countries, and this is the main worry existed in East Asia. If the rise of China is a key point of East Asian economic integration, Taiwan issue will definitely affect Cross-Strait Relations. The development of the network relations among Taiwan, China and the entire East Asian economic is function-based, but it is a must to create a flexible management for these network relations. In Taiwan’s situation, it is not only next to a powerful country, China but also excluded from East Asian economic integration. The development of Taiwan’s economy has to seek for multiple breakthroughs as well as raising innovation competence. Meanwhile, the government has to negotiate for bilateral free trade agreement and practically develop Taiwan’s economic on top of political standpoints. Detente for cross-strait relations is expected in 2008. It is a chance to bring both sides back to negotiating table. Under the new structure of World Trade Organization, we expect to see a new state of cross-strait affair and find a mutually beneficial economy. These are also the long-run concerns we need to pay attention to. |
