In this paper we explore a centralized distribution system of retailers. The scenario setting is that retailers decide their stocks from upstream warehouses before demand being realized, and after demand how to maximize the profits of centralized system by making inventory decisions and shipping decisions, which deploy the excess inventory to unsatisfied demand among retailers. This problem sometimes also is named as transshipment games, since the profit of transshipment is divided to each retailer by using the “core” solution concept of cooperative games. Because the intrinsic character of the problem is a stochastic programming, the authors proposed a two-phase procedure combined stochastic programming with cooperative game to deal with the problem. Finally, a two-echelons distribution network numerical example was given for demonstrating.
