For the sake of more quickly obtaining the infectious information from various medical institutions, the Center for Disease Control of the Department of Health in Taiwan of R.O.C. persistently enhances the flow and performance of public health surveillance systems and buildup the epidemic information exchange platform to promote various medical institutions to participate as well. This research aims to evaluate the performance for epidemic information data exchange platform, and investigate the potential demands and responses from hospitals in utilizing the different science and technology, in the meanwhile to study whether it results in different appraisals in user satisfaction with respect to system quality, data quality, and performance expectancy in the actual system use. Through the questionnaire investigation and face-to-face interview, to understand the satisfaction of users and the performance of system operation, it is found that over 66% hospitals feel satisfied on the epidemic information data exchange platform. Through the use of epidemic information data exchange platform, over half of the hospitals agree that it may increase the correctness of data, the integrity of information contents, and reduce the error rates of reporting in comparing to the traditional way of epidemic reporting method. As to the degree of user satisfaction, through the use of path analysis and regression analysis, the results show the major impact factors of the degree of user satisfaction are the material quality and the system quality but it is insignificant in terms of the explanation rate of the performance expectancy. This research also suggests that the Centers for Disease Control may constantly improve the performance of Epidemic Information Data Exchange Platform continually the system quality and the material quality.
