| Popis: | 96 To support mobility, most hand-held wireless devices are powered by battery that has only a limited amount of energy. Therefore, energy efficiency becomes one of most important design issues in wireless networks. Our proposed mechanism is focused on power saving MAC protocol. IEEE 802.11 protocol is one of most deployed and popular WLAN system in the world. IEEE 802.11 standard has infrastructure and ad hoc network, our MAC protocols are based on the two. In infrastructure network, our protocol uses a novel approach to schedule those to be transmitted frames for reducing the total waiting time and the collision of the frames. In ad hoc network, we propose protocols that improve devices must wake up at every beacon interval. The proposed protocols were evaluated by Qualnet 4.0 simulator. |
