Popis: | 96 Due to the rapid advance in information technologies and various applications in the Taiwan Academic Network (TANET), the junior high school and elementary school can use the TANET to facilitate their teaching. Most of the junior high schools and elementary schools in Taiwan are through the optical fiber connecting to the TANET. Yet, the more dependence on computer networks, the more risk from networks security. In the face of the security threats from the TANET, the majority effective method is to use the firewall system as a part of information security architecture in schools. Therefore, the willingness of IS staff accepting the firewall system will influence the firewall system adoption and usage. The research adopts “Decomposed Theory of Planned Behavior” and other information technology acceptance variables to establish the research model. This research sent questionnaires to 284 schools, and with a total of 203 returned. However, only 194 valid questionnaires since 9 incomplete questionnaires were deleted. The usable response rate was 68.3 % in this study. The result of the research indicated that factors influenced the accepting of firewall system for IS staff as follows: (1) Behavioral Intention was directly affected by Attitude, Perceived Behavioral Control and Facilitating Conditions. (2) Attitude was mainly affected by Perceived Usefulness, Compatibility, Perceived Risk and Training. (3) Subject Norms was primarily affected by Peer/Superior Influence. (4) Perceived Behavior Control was primarily influenced by Self-efficacy. Not only providing users with the appropriate operational training and related technical assistance resources, the improvement in the network skills, other information capability and user-friendly interface design are also important factors to influence user acceptance. These research findings have implications for academic research, government and information service vendors for promoting firewall adoption and usage. |
