Popis: | 95 “Existence” is composed of “Time” and “Space” which are also the major factors of describing circumstances. Different from “Space”, “Time” is abstract, and indescribable. Both scientific investigation of dimensions and philosophical definition of existence have been trying to explain and visualize “time,” which is also an everlasting topic for artists. Artists portray memory with painting, pause the moment with photography, and recollect motions with videotaping. At the age of digital media now, instead of making artwork based on the type of media used, we living in the moment, create in the moment, deliberate the ideas as part of life. In“Rear”, the artist analyzed the remnant images from the passerby, and reassembled them in a time tunnel like path. Place the audiences in the journey of time, survey the idea of “time” like looking at images behind in the mirror, experience the untraceable statement of time. In“Date Line”, the question of how does the world defines the idea of time is proposed. Space and distance are dismissed in the digital transmission world; the measurement of time in real life represent a fictitious timeless status in the digital world. At the same time spot, the time space appears different measurement, 8 p.m. at Taipei is 7 p.m. in New York. There is the true time, and the time we use to measure our day. The artwork takes the concept which composed by different idea of time, and represent the cyber aspect through the character of digital media. We expand our knowledge endlessly with the progress of technology to discover the truth of everything, at the end it all goes to the idea of “time”. Before the answer is found, we can only draw the shape of time with our own apprehension. |
