In this research, a preliminary structure of indexes for evaluating university teacher''s research performance was drafted, based on the literature review. Later, 3 questionnaire surveys were conducted on experts. In the first and second surveys, Delphi Method was applied to confirm the indexes and hierarchies of university teacher’s research performance. In the third survey, Analytic Hierarchy Process was adopted to calculate the relative weight of each index. Through the above surveys, data collection, and statistic analyses, the following discussions and suggestions were proposed. I.Conclusions: 1.The structure of "University Teacher’s Research Performance Indexes” are in 3 hierarchies. There are 5 evaluation indexes in the first hierarchy, 10 in the second, and 22 in the third. 2.In the first hierarchy, “Thesis Publication” has the highest weight of 33.88% and is the most important item. 3.In the second hierarchy, “Journal Publication” has the highest weight of 29.21% and is the most important item. 4.In the third hierarchy, “Thesis accepted in ABI, AHCI, CIS, SCI, SSCI, EI, and TSSCI international journals” has the highest weight of 25.05% and is the most important item. 5.It has been confirmed that the indexes in the third hierarchy can be subdivided into more detailed indexes of the fourth hierarchy, so as to provide a clearer definition of indexes and a more integral structure. II.Suggestions for Future Applications: 1.Educational administrations may apply the indexes constructed in this study as the criteria for the evaluation of research performance in university. 2.Universities may refer to the indexes and weights constructed in this study to create an evaluation scale so that university teachers can use it to understand their research performance. III.Suggestions for Future Studies: 1.The indexes and weights constructed in this study can be used in case studies. 2.More research methods can be used to strengthen the structure of this research and index weights. 3.For disciplines more related to arts, literature, and design, indexes and weights can be modified and adjusted. |
