Several companies of global producers in the chemical industry have moved toward and stepped into the life sciences - a combination of pharmaceutical and agricultural related businesses, after their core businesses reaching the mature stage of life cycle in 1980s. Prospectively, some companies maintain their core chemical businesses, some switch to life sciences businesses, and others narrow down their businesses into niche market. All the approaches taken are in different directions and the outcomes are progressing with such uncertainty. In this thesis study, we selected 5 global chemical companies - BASF, Bayer, Dow Chemical, DuPont and ICI, as real case study to validate how these drive for business change create impact on individual finance and stock. BASF and Dow are retaining their mature chemical operations. Although their financial results were impacted by the cyclical economic climate as well as Oil & Gas price, the trend of stock outcomes are positive against the their businesses changes. Bayer and DuPont are shifting to life sciences and moved out from their mature chemical operations. Their financial returns are under speculation, and the trends of stock outcomes are negative against the businesses their business changes. ICI has acquired Unilever's specialty businesses and sold off its basic chemicals businesses in order to narrow down their businesses to niche market. The sell-off was dragged out, and left ICI with billions of pounds of debt and huge interest bills, hence causes the collapse of its share price.
