This research invited five teenagers who used to be in depression to share their experiences by the in-depth terview of qualitative research. It aims to understand these teenagers’ subjective experiences in depression, the psychological and social causes of their depression and how they faced and recovered from this illness. The gathering and the analysis of all the data were mainly affected by root theory and phenomenology. First, five stories of these depressives present their subjective experiences in depression. Second, they have following psychological and social causes: 1. Personality is an important cause. 2. Due to personality, family factor or external pressure incidents, their demands for self-respect suffer setback, and that makes them have low self-esteem. 3. Having too high standard for doing things makes them feel self-derogate, and they negatively explain the differences between the expectation and the reality. 4. The occurrences of life pressure incidents cause their depression. Third, the ways they faced the depression are as following: 1. They went by themselves or with other’s accompany to go to hospital when they were depressive. But those who had to take medicine had little confidence on medical treatment. 2. They cried, had suicidal ideas, committed suicide and had non-typical behaviors to face depression. 3. Seeking friends and relatives’ accompany and the assistance from the guidance room reduced their sadness. 4. Express their inner mood by listening to music and writing. 5. All of the depressive teenagers grow up from this hard suffering. Fourth, the people, the activities and the beliefs that help them recover are as following: 1. the people: (1) the personality-resolute, not being defeated easily and independent(2) mother’s accompany to hospital, the carefree study attitude of the elder brother and the help of similar-aged relative (3) classmates, guidance teachers, tutor teachers, teachers as well as doctors, nurses and the counselor in the court 2. the activities: (1) listening to music and writing (2) watching TV, playing computer games as well as doing outdoor activities (3) the regular life in the halfway school (4) learning to smile every day 3. the beliefs: (1) Death is the road that everyone has to go through, but living is indeed a wonderful thing. (2) Don’t set bounds to one’s own thinking or think confusedly (3) Face the uncertain future with optimistic thoughts. (4) the “trust” of the important people (5) the contents of Still Thought Based on the research results above, this paper intends to provide some suggestions to help depressive teenagers in school from the aspects of family, school and medical system. Also, several opinions about further researches are mentioned.
