This thesis presents to design and realize a speed closed loop control system for brushless DC servo motor in order to apply the mobile Robot in early future. This control system makes use of VS-ECD2812 as the controller that takes the responsibility to send the servo commend to the driver. The core of the driver is a digital signal processor dsPIC30F4011 which is produced by Microchip incorporation. It is to take the responsibility to receive the servo command from the controller, using powerful build-in peripheral hardware function to drive the brushless DC servo motor. The hardware part of this thesis consists of the power supply, dsPIC30F4011 peripheral circuit, isolate circuit, frequency converter circuit, phase current measure circuit and the protect circuit. The part of software design is composed of VisSim and MPLAB software packages. The control algorithm of brushless DC servo motor is used the traditional proportional – integral controller and analyzed the speed response of brushless DC servo motor through the experimental results.
