Popis: | 95 During the 1990s, the impact of the Internet has changed the banking channel between people and banks. In 2000, The Economics reported that Internet banking costs banking institutions approximately US$0.01 per transaction and which accounts for 1% of all branch banking transactions. The Internet can help banks reduce business operation costs; but at the same time, it also changes human behavior and living style. Until now, there have been few scholarly investigations into the performance measurement of Internet banking, especially applied Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach to combine financial data and web metrics, web reach number. This study examines data collected from 32 banks in Taiwan and proposes a model that combines two different approaches, Data Envelopment Analysis and Principal Components Analysis (PCA), to evaluate the relative efficiency of Internet banking in Taiwan. The key contribution of the thesis is that it focuses on combining Internet web metrics and financial variables to complete the overall measurement. This study also adds PCA analysis to find the differences in business operation and the weaknesses and strengths between the 32 individual banks in Taiwan from the 45 DEA combination models. Finally, this study helps us understand their business operation orientation. Finally, this study provides a new approach to evaluate the performance of Internet banking. |
