A Study on the Relationships between Learning Group and Teachers Professional Development of the Public Junior High School Teachers - An Example of Taipei City and Taipei County

Popis: | 95 This study selected the samples from the junior high school teachers of Taipei city and Taipei county. The main purposes of this thesis were to find (1) the functions of learning group and the effectiveness of learning group in public junior high school of Taipei city and Taipei county, (2) the cognition of teachers’ professional development and the effectiveness of teachers’ professional development in public junior high school of Taipei city and Taipei county, and (3) the relationships between learning group and teachers’ professional development. This study was based on the results of literature review and made the questionnaire entitled “Survey of the Learning Group and Teachers’ Professional Development of Junior High Schools Teachers.” Data analysis in this research was conducted by t-test, one-way ANOVA, paired-sample t test and regression. Conclusions of this study are as follows: 1.Junior high school teachers are at intermediate-high levels in the learning group and teachers'' professional development. 2.In the teachers’population variables, only different teaching years show significant differences in the functions of learning group. 3.In the teachers’population variables, only different teaching years show significant differences in the effectiveness of learning group. 4.The background factors such as the teacher’s genders, teaching years, the educational background, teaching areas, school location, and school scales didn''t show significant distinction on the cognition of teachers’ professional development. 5.The background factors such as the teacher’s genders, teaching years, the educational background, teaching areas, school location, and school scales didn''t show significant distinction on the effectiveness of teachers’ professional development. 6.There were significant differences between the functions and the effectiveness of learning group. 7.There were significant differences between the cognition and the effectiveness of teachers’professional development. 8.The effectiveness of learning group in public junior high school is significantly predictable to the effectiveness of teachers’professional development. At last, according to the results of literature reviews and survey, suggestions would be provided to the junior high school teachers, educational authorities and further researches. |
