In terms of raising children, parents have to sacrifice their own well being to pay for the child-rearing costs. Money is introduced into the framework by using a cash-in-advance model. We got results that the effect of a demand for fertility depends on child-rearing cost and money supply. Furthermore, as the child-rearing costs are small enough, our qualitative conclusion is that an increase in money supply will always result in an increase in the fertility and parents’ time preference is big enough, then an increase in child-rearing costs will always result in an decrease the fertility. Finally, just as the fertility choice considered endogenous to the growth process will make money superneutrality invalidate.
